Adams County School District and Front Range Community College (FRCC) are pleaded to announce a partnership in Welding Technology that provides increased training oppertunities in skills valued in to community. FRCC is now utilizing a new, state of the art welding facility located at Prairie View High School (PVHS) to offer post-secondary instruction in welding technology in the late afternoons and evening s for high school students and recent graduates, and community members, as well as to enable high school students to earn college credit trough an articulation agreement signed by the school district and FRCC.

With the articulation, high school students may earn FRCC earn up to 28 credits towards Certificates in Welding Fundamentals, Oxyacetylene Welding, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding. They may also continue their education to earn advanced certificatesin Comprehensive Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Pipe Code Welding; all credits also count towards FRCC's Associate of Applied Science degree in Welding Technology.

The postsecondary Welding Technology classes for the general community provide an oppertunity to expand skills and career oppertunites. Students may earn certificates as listedd above and also continue to complete the Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology. Welding provides a viable, marketable skill with an aveage wage of $15-25 per hour. Many local employers are seeking skilled welders.

Adams County School District 27J and FRCC will continue to expand partnerships in the Career Technical Education arena with Articulation Agreements in buisness, computer aided drafting and design, computer information systems, and accounting.
